"THE OUTLAW TRAIL EXPEDITION"

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF... BUTCH CASSIDY & THE SUNDANCE KID

Epic journey of the last of the bandit riders

In 1901 Butch Cassidy, The Sundance Kid and consort Etta Place escaped America and settled into the safety of a new frontier. By 1903 law enforcement agencies knew of their whereabouts and mounted an expedition to Argentina to extradite them. In 1905 the trio embarked for Chile learning they had been implicated in a bank robbery they did not commit. For the next three years Butch and Sundance traveled through Argentina, Chile, Peru and Bolivia until their reported demise in 1908.

EXPEDITION TO RETRACE BUTCH & SUNDANCE'S

Imposing Outlaw Trail journey

A British Team will embark on an authentic expedition replicating the  known movements and modes of travel by the infamous outlaw duo through South America. Utilizing boat, rail, horse and mules the party aims to reach the lonely windswept mountain outpost village of San Vicente where Butch and Sundance met their demise. There is no back-up unit providing comforts and the Team will have to demonstrate sheer nerve and courage to brave inherent risks of horseback travel in some of the remotest high country in South America. This is the first authentic retracing of Butch & Sundance's imposing journey in South America. The British Team were first to ride south-north along the Outlaw Trail from Mexico-Canada in 1999. The expedition has a benevolent role in fundraising for Cancer Research UK.

BENEFITS PROGRAM

SPONSORSHIP

Curiosity and further speculation continue as to the final outcome of Butch & Sundance following attempts in Bolivia to exhume graves and identify bones of America's most wanted outlaws. Publication of historian Richard Patterson's book - Butch Cassidy - A Biography boosted further interest along with two recent documentary films on the History Channel in 2004. More books  await publication. An unrivalled sponsorship and media opportunity exists to identify with a unique expedition of epic proportions.

PROFILING

This expedition represents a segment of a huge challenge of fortitude and survival ever offered for corporate sponsorship. It is a genuine chance for a company to detect an intense challenge and benefit from public and media interest it will generate. Media coverage is expected to be considerable in both the UK, United States and Argentina.

BRANDING

Your company branding will appear on expedition equipment and in all 'PR' and media activity. To a 'lead' sponsor we are offering the opportunity to brand the expedition with your own company's name. The (your company's name) Outlaw Trail Expedition.

MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS

The expedition is expected to attract significant press and media coverage. There will be powerful photographic and television coverage monitoring the expedition. A website will be developed to allow sponsors, supporters, employees and the public alike to follow progress of the expedition. Sponsors will be given the prospect to advertise their own products and involvement on the web as well as develop a link to their own site.

Opportunities also exist for companies to be led by members of the expedition team for incentives and teambuilding exercises involving the horse riding sections.
