Location: Situated within Hill Creek Extension/Ouray Indian Reservation, north of Green River, Utah.

History: The ride follows the trail of Butch & Sundance's Wild Bunch in and around the Florence and Rattlesnake Creeks, close to where 'Flat Nose' George Currie kept a hideout. Close by is the infamous Desolation Canyon renowned by white-water rafters.

Ride: Isolated with limited access constituting the longest continuous escarpment in the world, multi-colored bands of rock resemble the closed pages of a book. Mountain slopes break into aspen, fir, pine and spruce forests. Elevations rise from 4,400 - 9,650 feet. Riding on top of the ridges affords great views of the high desert in this exceedingly remote region that has seen little change for over a century. Flanked by over a million acres the Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation hosts an abundance of wildlife: deer, elk, condor, bears, coyote and the elusive mountain lion. A pristine wilderness conservation area, no roads connect from Green River to Vernal until the Wagon Road, a dirt track leading to Ouray. Hard riding and unforgiving country, stark but rewarding, for those wanting to experience hidden canyons, marveling at Utah's lesser known red rock lands.
