"NAHUEL HUAPI" . PATAGONIA, ARGENTINA

Location: situated adjacent to the Nahuel Huapi National Park north of Bariloche, Patagonia, based on a private estancia, home to a third generation Texan family who staked their claim in 1889 and were neighbors to Butch and Sundance.

History: Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid escaped to here in 1901 and became respectable stockmen, settling in prime cattle country. They ranched peaceably and successfully for some five years, mixing with the high society, before eventually returning to the Outlaw Trail.

Ride: Explore magnificent country on a circuit across the Andes and discover emerald lakes and steppe. Marvel at the beautiful landscape and learn about the flora, fauna and of course the Bandidos Yanquis . You will ride five to seven hours daily taking all your provisions with you on pack animals and keeping to original native ways of the Gaucho. Ride through marshy areas mixed with tempered rainforest, dense southern beech forests, pines and the indigenous monkey puzzle trees where elevations rise from 4,300 - 6,000 feet. A unique, small highly personalized ride. A real adventure not to be missed!  The ride was featured in the Independent on September 11, 1999, and made the Independent again March 1, 2003

10 days/ 9 nights. Accommodation: tents. Group size: 3-8, Cost $1,750 private charters only. Departures usually November-March.
