RIDING THE OUTLAW TRAIL in the footsteps of Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid …

Is about a grueling horseback journey with Richard Adamson – crossing 2,036 miles of desert, mountain, canyon and high plains wilderness, from Mexico to Canada, starting at Monte Cristo Rey (where Texas, New & Old Mexico conjoin), riding through states of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana, following the historic known trail of the most elusive successful Western outlaws, Butch Cassidy, The Sundance Kid and The Wild Bunch!

This monumental trek culminated from my 7 years research, 3 riding vacations, between driving an estimated 15,000 miles across 9 states of America. In April 1999, 100 years after Butch and Sundance were at their peak and 30 years post William Goldman’s movie, Richard and I relived an element of an heroic bygone age. For nearly 6 months we tasted pure freedom and found a slice of the Old West, that was and still is, if you know where…

Narrative is supported by slides taken (including the infamous remote hideouts) where the outlaws based their operations. I disclose a bullet-point history of the bandit riders, their success, social conditions, Hollywood’s input and technicalities of mounting such a venture with horses, unsupported.
